    Hello all,

I am very new to web design, and am looking for input on my first real site. It is a site designed for working musicians and bands, where they can come share their ideas, stories, and reviews of albums / bands / shows. You can also post pictures up, and in the future you will be able to post songs and sound files.

I am using Drupal for my CMS, and am slowly beginning to grasp its power.

Here it is, let me know what you think.

    RockBlockOnline

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Tom

I would not say that use a very new, or at least you have a very good taste of the typography! Don’t afraid to add a space break after >>read more. Ads and menu to the left should look the same as much as possible. Some graphic logo will definitely add to the generally good feeling. Make submit a nice big button, now it is not clear at once. There will be no need for the “Navigation” title then. User login block text should be aligned left. The most important: the text will be more readable if it is white. Your links could be green for example.

So I recognize it as a BLOG right away, why should I stay unless I am a subscriber interested in your subject matter?

Now on the other hand if I was a subscriber why can't a simple background, not black, work and be more easily read cause I am already interested in what you have to say?

    Simple is good, right?

    Cheers!

Hmm, good points guys. I am def going to change the text color to white, and enlarge the submit button. I will have to look into best practices to see if the user login should go on the left. I know that is the hot spot (along with the center of the page) for clicks. Something to consider.

Wineguy, not sure I understand what you are saying... care to elaborate?
