Thanks for info Maxell Damn I thought it was something you learn on how you do a CMS So does that mean you have to buy this code or template it looks, Maxell?
buckmajor: You might want to start off w/ learning PHP. http://hudzilla.org/phpwiki/index.php?title=Main_Page is a good start.
Hey sri Yea man I will be doing a short course on PHP in March, so Im actually looking forward to it. You wouldnt believe it but this will cost me $2,500AU for only a 1 week course They say its pretty intensive though, so I will learn it and do some online tutorials to help sharpen up CHEERS
Try Movable Type. They now have an Open Source. It's robust. You can create an entire site out of it (static pages, multiple blogs, multiple authors). It's great for magazine type of site; the only catch is you have to study its templating structure. But it's worth the effort. Believe me. About.com and themorningnews.org uses it.
Try sNews, it's only a one file script and very easy to integrate, very lightweight, has many MODS and ADD-INS to choose from. Link
MT 4 runs in MySQL. It can also publish dynamic pages using PHP. You can call its functions, mods, etc, using PHP, say you want a customized front-page. But if your question is if MT would shift from PERL to PHP, that I couldn't answer. My best guess is, maybe NOT. MT's in PERL since the beginning and I bet it's hard for developers to create a script in PHP from scratch. But that's just my opinion
i think wordpress can be used very effectively if u customize ur template to look like a CMS......check out my site www.reelsuave.com Code (markup): I took a blog template and changed it so much to look like a CMS.....no one will even know that it works on wordpress Also the Liverpool football club website is a CMS and it uses wordpress Its just how you make the use of Wordpress that matters.....go get urself a cool CMS looking template or make one and wordpress will fit in soo perfectly
