I have a marketing blog that i would like to set certain keywords to marketing products that convert... terms are fairly generic at best such as internet marketing, home business, home based business.... What do you guys suggest? Thanks

I suggest you should make a keyword research from all possible sources - Google, Yahoo, Bing, Alexa ranks (all possible) and then decide on the strategy that you want to use, based on the audience towards which you want to direct the content of your blog. You might have to use keywords with low Alexa rank, you might have to use keywords with high rank or low rank, based on what your strategy is. Another thing you can do is track the Alexa rank (USA and outside of USA) of your competitors. Then, you will be able to figure out what strategy will just fit into the niche you are trying to operate in. If you want to sell these products successfully, you will have to spend at least a week or a few days of hard work and research, in order to determine which keywords you must use, your strategy and then decide and formulate a strategy, based on which you have to create content - articles, blog posts, comments, web content, images, videos, everything. The user LOVES seeing relevant content to what he/she is searching for online ... this grabs their attention and they start buying and buying more and more stuff, preferably from the same place! So, this is how you can create a name online ... and also long-term clients, if you decide to extend this business.
