If you look at: http://psdesignzone.com I'm looking for advice on legitimate ways to increase the CTR, currently i'm getting about 0.88% over 700-1000 impressions. Any Ideas? Also any ideas for increasing CPC (cost per Click)? Thanks
1. Remove the 468x60 on top. People are blind to this unit and according to the less-is-more principle, if you have less ad units on your site, the user will only be able to choose between high-paying ads. So removing the 468x60 should increase your average CTR and CPC. 2. Remove the 250x250 and disable image ads on the 336x280. Less is more, but you want to be able to display at least some inventory, so ditch the image ads. 3. Consider placing your ads on top, but INSIDE the content. E.g. below the title. Most people wil lscroll to the page title straight away, ignoring your ads. Do these things and keep us updated on how you fare.
The Large rectangle image is actually the one getting the highest CTR, i'll try text and see what happens.
Large rectangles always score well. Regardless of whether you decide to keep the image or not (best bet: keep image AND text on the large unit), do yourself a favor and kill the other two units (250x250 and 468x60). Also, consider moving your large rectangle INSIDE your content, like I said before. You might want to strategically position a second unit somewhere further down your content, but a single glob of 3 units doesn't work.
