Hi I'm looking for a host that can handle digg traffic. My site is about Anime and will be using wordpress so it must able to handle the mysql resource usage since it will have high traffic coming from digg. The specs I'm looking for are 100mb space 100gb bandwidth awstats fast & stable
Hello There! We can support this on either our Canadian server or our USA server! Check out our plans here. Look forward to hosting you
I would think first before doing anything rash. Digg traffic can get very crazy. I suggest you find a host that has eAccelerator or lightspeed.
One of my friend use a simple way to handle digg effect, he create a portal page, which will not connect to DB, just read a simple file, where contains the concurrent online user number. If the number is small, the portal will redirect users to the real content. If the number is big, just tell user there are too many users, and refresh every 30 seconds.
Using the 100 GB specification, I would suggest the cPanel Business Hosting Plan: Give us a call at 1(888)229-3185 if you have any questions or need any assistance with getting your website setup!
Unless on an empy ovtal core the server will slow down very bad. Last time it happened to me the server went to 80 load on a wordpress. But that wordpress didn't ahve any wp-cache installed which i suggest you do. Ppl commin here and bs you that "me me me... i can do it..." either don't have any idea what it is or are just resellers looking for a quick buck. I suggest you take a look at clustered hosting as they are more scalable. A very good chice would be imountain.com. Check them out.
you should have a look at some of cirtex hosting plans, i use them for my site which has pretty high traffic.
I can do it for you at $100 a year or $8 a month # 100GB space # 100GB bandwidth # 6,000 Mail Boxes # 600 Sub Domains # 30 MySQL Databases # Free and Fast Support # Powerful Control Panel
It looks as Doreo is able to handle Digg traffic. It is written from one of their customer which site have survived Digg effect. dailyblogtips.com/doreo-hosting/ So far i know only a couple sharing servers are able to survive Digg effect. Most of them use light speed technologies (Doreo too) and other one apart from Doreo are Crucial web hosting (Split-Shared web hosting) and MediaLayer (light speed). All 3 of them are much expensive than the rest but you may be sure that your site will not negative performance on server and that you will survive Digg effect.
Perhaps you may consider a VPS for your requirements. If interested you can view our VPS Hosting plans as advertised on http://www.eukhost.com/vps-hosting.php
We have a new server that can handle that load. Will do it for $20/month. TVGHosting has been in business since 2003, we are not going anywhere! Email sales [at] tvghosting dot com for a setup link or PM me.
