Hello. I've been doing basic computer work (installing programs, troubleshooting email and web issues, etc.) in my locale for a while now, but I'm moving soon and would like to continue offering services to my clients without having to travel too much. What I'd like to do is find some kind of helpdesk software that allows me to remote control someone's computer. Preferably it would be something that requires no pre-installed software and doesn't charge a monthly fee. The ability to access CD drives, restart the system, change the registry, etc. is essential. I've done some Googling, and there are a lot of options out there, some for around $30 and some for hundreds. Have any of you used this kind of software (especially the cheap ones)? Any recommendations or suggestions on which package to choose? Thanks Tom
There are several options here, one of them are VNC (search on winfiles.com) I know you will need to install a client on the mashine you want to have control of. Another option is to use Windows XP remote options there you do not need to install anything just give the permission to alow someone to connect to the mashine you want control of.
I've used VNC before. It does the job nicely but it's not that user-friendly because some of my clients couldn't figure out how to configure it, it's hard for them, especially when they're using routers.
Tomcat7194 did you find what you were looking for? I am also looking for something similar... The ability for clients to install on the fly.
