I am trying to promote my free classifieds website http://www.Jihoy.com It's completely free, and my current goal is to signup as many real users as I can. How would I go about promoting this? I am thinking of starting a contest, in which people compete to earn points for prize. People earn points via logging in, signing up new users using their referral link, or clicking on links in newsletter. At end of each month, I will be awarding the top 3 players in points with prizes, say, $50 for #1, $30 for #2, $20 for #3to start. Prize money is small in the beganning, and will raise it to couple hundred dollars once I build the system better to track referrals and traffic generated by each user. Payment will be send via paypal. People who won prizes for the month gets their points push down to $0, and start over. While rest of the players carry over their points to the next contest. So people can say, signup one user per month, do that for a long time, and eventually win something as points keep on carrying over. Anyone has suggestions as to how I should promote this? I am also a bit worry about hitting an adsense site with referral traffic.
