Is anyone in Asia's internet connection back to its proper speed? I'm currently in China and it is still slow. I thought it was going to be fixed by the 15th? My business is now been halted for over 20 days... Could anyone help me find some information on when this will actually be restored? All I can find is either the 15th (already past...) or the end of January. Any news that some of you may know that I don't? Thanks
think about it. while you're complaining about slow internet, someone else is weeping over a lost relative. just hope that internet will be restored. you're not the only one.
Broadband connections here in the Philippines is ok. That's the one that I have at home. But here in the office, the connection sucks! Connection here is DSL. I think all will go back to normal within the first week of february.
Those of you who are in Asia are not alone. Here in the U.S., massive winter storms all across the North East have knocked out power to major cities, effectively putting online businesses to a halt. My best advice to you is to move out of areas where Internet access can be adversely effected by weather conditions. If my net goes down for a month, I effectively won't make any money with the exception of Adsense. I would relocate to a place that has mild weather all year around. It is tough to find, but you will have to do your research. Here in the U.S., these are the places I would avoid: California: Earthquakes, frequent power shortages, high cost of living Sourthern States: Hurricanes (Hurricane Katrina is a good example) Northeast: Winter Storms I don't know much about East Asian climate, so you guys in Asia will have to figure out where the environment is best.
Hello everyone, Tesla - no offense, but really, every place in the US has some downfall in weather; the middle of the country has recently had a major ice storm that has knocked out power in parts of several states (Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, etc.) Plus, that part of the country also deals with tornados in the spring and summer. The Pacific Northwest has also been hit hard by winter storms this season, and they often experience flooding up there with the high amounts of rain they get there annually. I live in Cleveland, Ohio - for the most part, it's not a bad area weather-wise; we do get a few winter storms (actually had our second major snowfall of the season today - about 4 inches or so, but it didn't knock out power; between snow and ice, I'd take the snow; any significant amount of ice will almost always knock out power, whereas large amounts of snow won't do it very often.) Conversely, we sometimes have hot summers, so much so that the power goes out for a period of time because every one is running their air conditioners, but for the most part, Cleveland and the Midwest might be one of the better areas of the US in terms of "non-disastrous" weather (may that continue! To be honest, the NE US has had very little in terms of winter storms this season thanks to El Nino; in fact, here in Cleveland, we've been mostly in the 40s and 50s; some winters, we're lucky if we're in the 20s and 30s, which is more-less the norm for us temperature-wise. In other words, I think every region of the US has its difficulties weather-wise, but I do agree with you that certain areas are more "disaster-prone" than others, like the southern states with hurricanes, etc. Just my opinion! Static - good luck in getting your Internet connection back up again - hopefully, it will happen soon! Take care and have a great day! Sincerely, Joe Chengery III
