I was looking for a good FREE Web Analytics which is good point to start with and may be if things look good, I'll go for a paid one. Can anyone let me know which one they fine useful or have used to advise on the same. I have researched some GUI application and would be going through them but in the meantime please do giude me on this. My aim is to know the user behaviour visiting my website to refine my marketing initiatives.
I think google analytics is the favourite option of many. I don't use it myself. I rely on the logs-files provided by my host.
i use google analytics haven't tried anything else my friend uses and luvs extreme tracker but thats all i know off!
I use Awstats (from my web hosting control panel) for my websites, and Google Analytics for my blogs. Very happy with both.
there's never one accurate method in my opinion. I use google.com/analytics for on the fly, 3rd party tracking when I quickly need to pull up data for the site. But I usually cross reference it with log files from the host. PROTIP: Use more than one stats counter application and the most reliable hitcounter/statistics tool is your own log files.
Like I said in the other post, stat counter is the best for the money (free). There is no substitute...period
Another vote for Google Analytics and StatCounter. Both are free, and give a lot of good data. It's a pity there's not just one, but using two seems to get most of the data I can use. Also, my web host has things like Awstats and Webalizer which also have useful data. If I can't find something between those four packages, I'm in trouble.
I used it for some two months now, and i am very satisfied with the tracker and reports, other things i havent tried.
I too use Google Analytic but thinking of going for another web analytics such as "phpMyvisits" as suggested by cosmokramer. I need more strategic data about my website such as how much time spent on a page for a visitor, which area he was more intrerested in on my site etc. Has anyone used clicktracks' web analytic tool?
I use Google Analytics, StatCounter and eXTReMe Tracking. Personally, I prefer StatCounter the most though the 100 entries for the logging is a bit little but that's the amount for free usage.
