I have an SMF forum which is moderately active. Some info: Average daily registrations: 5 Average daily posts: 180 Average daily topics: 10 Average online daily: 33 I don't think this is much but anyway, I've had to move this website several times since it started, there's been problems with every single host. The latest host is the "best" problems I've had. The problem there is constant out of memory errors and white pages. They have the memory limit set just fine so no one knows what the problem is. My request here is asking for those who host an SMF forum successfully to let me know who's hosting their site. It doesn't matter to me if it's shared, reseller, dedicated, etc. I just want to know which hosts to look into so I can finally find a good one and stay there, the members and I are tired of the constant moving.
HostingProvider, I am not looking for "cheap" nor "unlimited"... unlimited does not exist and I am not looking for hosts to offer me their services, I am looking for those with recommendations based on personal experience hosting an SMF forum. host_core, looking for experience with this situation, thanks!
i would say that your current host isn't the right host for you and that you need to change to another host. i will be sending you my recommendation via PM
May be you find my reply off-topic, but I am using phpbb forum with dinohost.com and I have no problem with them at all. I think phpbb and SMF are same kinda softwares and can run on normal hostings. Note: My forum is not very busy but I am sure dinohost will not let me down when my forum will be big Btw, may I know your forum URL - May be I will join it?
Colleen, That's right, sorry. Anyway I must tell you that such a forum simply can't waste so many resources to be taken down by a hosting company... it must be wrong...
Your are Right Man. SMF Forum can't be problem for hosting providers. SMF Dosn't use so many resources
Hello Colleen check this http://tmdhosting.com/smf-hosting.html also check the reviews in their forum. I hope this hosting will satisfy you.
crissic.com Thanks for the recommendation, I know the owner and will check it out. It's a private forum. Thanks and thanks to everyone else who replied.
We host hundreds of SMF sites without any issues. Our own forum runs SMF (http://forum.reliablesite.net). Take a look at out shared and clustered hosting services. We've been in business doing strictly hosting for over 2 years, so we know how it's done ;-)
