Looking for good fonts for history page.

    Hey all,

As the title says, I'm looking for some good fonts for my history page. I'm quite new to the HTML business, and hve read many tutorials, but I always find that the single line of font you get to see as example, doesn't quite show how the whole page in that font would look.
I've tried a couple of fonts, but I'm just not sure what is right and what is not. I can't figure out which font reads nicely, and which fonts don't, probably because I've read my own site so many times.
Any advice would be very appreciated!

Do you need the fonts for your section headings or do you need fonts for the body copy?

If it's the former, I'd go with Georgia; the latter I'd use Lucida Grande or Tahoma.

Hmmm, If You want to set any other font than the standards one, it is not a good idea because people will not see Your font, they haven´t installed this font by default. I just suggest to use any of standard Windows fonts.

Which leads to the eventuality of your Macintosh and Unix/Linux users possibly not having that font available.

google free fonts, and you will be presented with hundreds of sites with free fonts. the only thing yo will need to do is if the font you use doesnt come as standard with windows it wont appear on your customers screens, so you will need to make the text a graphic to ensure your chosen font displays on the customers screen.

Or use sIFR to insert the non-standard font into the Web page :).

I'm looking for all kinds of fonts. For the body-content, but also for the headers within this content, and for the menu. See the site here, to get some idea of my layout, there's not much content so far...
