Trust me I hate it. I have only had one dispute but it was in my favor you need to have a tracking number with every item you ship out or you will lose the dispute. The bad thing is with ebay There are too many people trying to sell the same thing, the items I was trying to sell there's me an like three other people if That . I was making around $700+ In my pocket , I would be making $1k+ but after fees I am only left with around $700+ They kill you in fees. So I was paying over $300+ In fees. And before I took my break in one week I racked up almost $200 in fees. So I thought that was crazy sold too many items. but I will return selling the items I just have too many things that I am doing at one time to make money
I bring home $1,000/mo on my partime job, its a lot easier compared to what you have to do in order to make what you make. I would like to sit here and make that money doing nothing (not ebay) maybe its not possible...but anyway, i work a lot less for the same money we both make. your $300 in fees compared to my $40 in gas to get to work I do not like my job that much either, but it seems easy in comparison.
I also have 3 other Ways I get money that's how I was able to stop selling all together. I just can't handle stripping out that many items lol . I'm not rich but I do make a pretty decent living. Have you sold on ebay dscurlock?
I have been looking to dropship retail software for quite sometime. If you are interested please pm me.
Find a niche and stick to it. Like many have stated, there are a lot of competitors on eBay and finding a niche with limited competitors is extremely difficult but not impossible. Do a bit of research on eBay to find a niche you want to get into. You will then need to find a reliable supplier, or in your case reliable dropshipper. The best place to go is www.alibaba.com although there are many people trying to scam you out of your money. You will have to do extensive research to verify the company is indeed legit. Many Chinese and Hong Kong manufacturers wont necessarily deal with individuals unless your introduction or sales pitch to them is good. Even then, you will have a very difficult time purchasing products from manufacturers and then getting them to dropship for you. It very rarely happens. If a business is offering you dropshipping, they are most likely the reseller, not the original equipment manufacturer. My best suggestion is to purchase the products direct from the supplier (cut out the middleman) and get them delivered to your residence, where you will then send out to your individual customers. It is more profitable, but it will take more time. Packaging and handling all the products to send to individual customers is time consuming, but ultimately more rewarding. Also, you don't want to rely on someone else in terms of the success of your business, do you? Another negative with dropshipping is the disputes with customers. Say for instance a customer purchases a digital camera from you. The customer pays you, you pay the dropshipper, then they ship it out. Your customer receives the digital camera only to find out that it's been broken in transit. The customer then demands a refund, so you contact your dropshipper only to find out that he will not give the refund because it isn't his fault. You now have 1 angry customer and 1 broken digital camera with no-one paying for it. Basically, you will probably end up paying the customer the refund out of your own pocket, while the dropshipper keeps the money, your customer has your money and you're left empty handed. Also, many dropshippers tend to leave a business card, sticker or sales information inside the box/case of their product. As you don't see the item, you have no way of removing the sales material. This could potentially end up with your customer going straight to the source and competiting with you. Dropshipping is also against eBay's TOS, so if eBay finds out (that's if you're going to sell on eBay?) you could possibly face a suspension which would ruin your companys reputation. eBay fees are also pretty high. I have sales exceeding $4,000 per month (gross) with eBay fees over $400; it's crazy! Talking from experience, dropshipping is not a good idea, and you should probably invest in purchasing the goods upfront. Anyway, good luck
I was looking into drop shipping before. After tons of research, you will realize that there are only few legitimate ones, however, you can barely find any products that will provide you good margin to do the business!
