I know there are a billion different forum scripts out there, so why is it worth your time working on this one?
Well jQuorum is a bit different... no seriously.

The goal of the project is to produce a secure, fast, pluginable, customisable forum which is "for dummies" out of the box. Being AJAX powered, the forum is super fast, navigating boards and posts is almost instantaneous, and I'm talking http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCgQDjiotG0 instantaneous.

jQuorum is a jquery and jqueryui (eventually jquery-mobile) powered forum where most of the leg work is done on the client side leaving the server to deliver a higher quality service to it's community, especially the larger ones.

Customising the forum is a snap, if you can use this tool: http://jqueryui.com/themeroller/, you're already doing it.

    Here's the project: https://github.com/krazyjakee/jQuorum

This is the first I've announced the project as I think it's gotten big enough to start looking for better PHP coders then myself. I am looking mainly for PHP developers to help secure and organise the server code I have there.

There is also a website I am in the middle of setting up, it will contain more information about the project and it's goals: http://www.jquorum.com

If you'd like to work closer with me (the team), please add me on skype: jakecattrall

    Thanks for your time.

It's a pile of unsecured code at the moment.
I'm just a few steps away from a working prototype but in the mean time you should download the source from github and run it on a local server.

Perhaps it isn't crap. What I should of said is...it just doesn't compare to even the lighter Forums already offered. It lacks greatly in features.

No you're right, as it stands it isn't ready to provide to the needs of community admins, but this is because it is in pre-beta development and most of the code in the repo is merely foundation.
Once the foundation is laid down solid, I can begin taking orders for features and then we can decide which features are important enough to include in the default installation and which should be plugins.

Since this thread is about finding contributors, perhaps you could provide a list of features that you feel would be important to you?
Either way, thanks for your input.

In a few days I will put up a video overview of the forum and show everyone actually what it looks like, instead of offering just a bunch of code.
