any recommendations for good stock photos? Actually, has anyone tried Getty images? They seem to have the most and widest range of photos, but don't they cost alot?

    thanks.

free and royalty free. Permissions vary a bit depending on the photographer.

Deviantart has some nice stuff. The forum won't let me post a link :( But the URL is pretty obvious.

I went the free route for years... eventually got to the point where I started stealing because the free ones weren't cutting it. Then I discovered photos.com.... Saved up $350 and have been downloading unlimited amount of photos that I want. If you do it right you can get photos for cheap and they provide high resolutions for print. Anyways, if your that short on cash stick to the free ones until you have enough money...sxc.hu has been descent to me...

Do you think it's better than www.istockphoto.com ? Istockphoto charges b/w $1-$3 per photo. Can't get better than that?

adobe bridge (with photoshop) lets you search for royalty free images. You then have the option to pay for high resolution images. But the thing is the low res free ones are not bad at all.
