    Hello all,

Im looking for free link directories that will help with back links. I dont mind trading links with other sites.

Anyone know of any good directories that wont harm search engine robots etc.

    Many thanks

web directories are dead unless they are niche related or you are on page one of directory. Business directories which are local also still work a little but save your time for something better.

There are many directories, what topic is your site on?

I have just discovered a new one related to marketing, seems interesting:

I don't recommend you to insist on directory submission a lot. Only submit in high quality ones. Don't waste your time a lot on directory submission. Try to submit your pages on social bookmarks more. Also article writing can help you too.

The problem with a lot of the older, stagnant directories, is that Google doesn't seem to crawl most of the really deep pages, which is where your link would be. And if the page is never crawled, your link is never realized. So your time would be better spent getting your links elsewhere.

Having said that, I wouldn't make the blanket statement that directories are dead, because I still manage to get some link juice from some of them!

I forgot to say that the link I gave you, which is a list of directories, tells you their PR side-by-side with each name.

Mine I submitted only to PR 3+ directories. Some of them even have PR inside the categories your site will be listed, if you have a browser plugin to see PR you can check that out.
