Does anybody know for any free source of geo data? We need database of cities and for each city a region, country, lon., latitude. Thank you!
Thats a tall order. A lot of data here: http://earth-info.nga.mil/gns/html/index.html I have found that for some countries (e.g. Timor Leste) it's skimpy, and some of their transliterations are downright weird, but for the most part reasonably comprehensive - especially for the price ($0).
