What amazing forums for of so much valuable information, think this will turn into my 2nd home, lol.
    anyways onto my small dilemma.

Ive been running a bodybuilding board on the net called greatmanjohn for a number of years now. I named it after a bodybuilder friend who died.
Anyway we have a great community but its a small community.
we get about 100 unique visitors a day, most looking for something, but we dont sell anything, we just like to talk about mma and fitness.

although im not looking to make lots of money from my board, IF i was to generate more traffic, what would be the best way for me to try and earn some type of revenue, even if its just to pay for the board every year.
would it be affiliate? or adsense?
sorry if its a daft question, (noobie)

For sites like yours that have a tight community, the best adsense alternative could be to use a service from adbrite or use a really tight niche specific product. Don't get tied down by having to stay in compliance with google's adsense. More trouble than it's worth for a small community like yours. Also, you could poll your users to see what they may like to see in the form of advertising. It never hurts to get a feel for what your readership is looking for.

You must have a look at bodybuilding.com's affiliate products. They sell well. Try to make your community big by inviting pro bodybuilders to write articles or interview them. You will be surprised how many will be ready to give an interview. Just and email request will do.
