Looking for classified/auction software

    Hi everyone,

I looked at some of the older threads on this subject and was hoping to find some additional opinions on classified and auction software which will be combined with a forum. The software has to have:

    1) Excellent security and spam protection (or an api that will allow an interface to products like Akismet or Bad Behavior)

    2) Excellent support (I am willing to pay a reasonable sum for yearly support)

    3) A reasonably flexible architecture. Template based CSS is preferred but not required. However, it should have a reasonably flexible architecture so that I can modify it for the items that need to be classified/auctioned.

    4) A good list of clients who are in production.

    5) Will allow me to initially run on a lightly shared server (sharing with three other applications).

Any experiences and/or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reference. The reviews are very short, and don't seem that much thought went into them. In your experience, are these reviews trustworthy? If you have any experience with the packages I would greatly appreciate hearing about them. Thanks.

In my experience, the PHP scripts on that site are trustworthy. However, I've only used one classifieds script, and it was a plugin for Joomla

Thanks for the additional info. Can the plugin you used be found over on the Joomla site? If so, what were your experiences with Joomla and the plugin since I am considering Joomla as an option for what I am trying to accomplish. Thanks again for the help.

I have loads of experience with Joomla, and highly recommend it. The plugin is called Marketplace I believe. It's OK, sort of basic, but good for what I need it for. I'm looking forward to the next update though
