    I am totally new to dedicated servers, but have to set one up.
    Does anyone know of a good website that tells me what I need to install?
    or
    Does anyone knows about a service that provides full service for a low price?

    I think vps is also an option.

    Cheap and full support aren't really possible :p. Get a VPS with management, depending on your budget and your needs you may find something that suits you, but what do you expect the company to install on your VPS?(As most of them don't really take care of 3rd party software or helping you with your own scripts).

    Hi Sean,

    I think you can get an old P4 or AMD machine for less than $100/month but I strongly recommend you not to get a dedicated server if you can not manage it. If you are not familiar with server management the best option for you is to get low cost Managed server or to get VPS.

    By cheap, I think you mean under $80-100 maybe? Most of plan around the price doesn't provide fully managed or harden your server.

    What are you planning to host?

    What is your budget?

    What would you expect the management to cover?

    These questions need to be answered before you can get a good answer.

    Depending on what you are wanting to host, shared hosting may work for you.

    i have 2 VPS accounts at www.knownhost.com support is brilliant.. fast servers too


    also www.eurovps.com may be an option i bookmakred them a while ago but never used yet
