Hi, I want to downgrade from a dedicated server ($900 annualy) to more cheaper VPS ($200-300 annualy), as it is too powerful for a mostly static content and scripts. Also, we've removed JIRA from live server (JAVA eats too much resources). Currently I have following configuration: Dedicated server configuration and stats: Godaddy Economy OS: Linux Fedora 32-Bit CPU: Intel® Core™ i3 - 2 cores RAM: 2 GB Storage: 2 x 160 GB hard drives Bandwidth: 5 TB per month Stats: CPU processes (Nginx + Apache) - usually 4-20%, peak 60%, RAM - usually 0,2-20mb, peak 250mb(?) 2 Websites on 2 domains: - Wordpress: 1000-5000 unique visitors per day - Custom CMS: 100-200 Unique Visitors Additional: Helpdesk: Kayako 4.0 (prehosted) Cron jobs - daily (backup) and each minute (newsletter script - send mail SMPT/POP3) Newsletter script: 10000+ subscribers. Plus some minor maintence scripts. Please advise on more stable and cheaper VPS.
You are going to want to be upfront with any host you are considering about that newletter part. That is going to be alot of email going out and lots of hosts will not allow it. Better to know up front rather then getting shut down out of the blue. Are you looking for a managed or unmanaged host?
As Stach14 said, for your requirements, first, wordpress blog hosted with 5000 UV per day, you must have quite good RAM going on but then, your problem will be the newsletter thingy, 10 000+ members, you will eventually find a host that allow 2000 per day but 10 000 I really doubt
You can go with privateinternet access. It is the best service provider for every country. It will unblock all blocked sites and nice support by them.
It is in your best interest to call up the sales dept. of your newly selected provider and let them know the specifics of what you need, what your plans are and what your budget will be. Many reliable providers have knowledgeable sales teams that are willing to work with you and offer the best price for the best package that suits your needs. Read a few reviews and make your decisions based on the overall reflection of those reviews.
I think you should check for offers from webserver4. They are offering really quality services for reasonable prices.
you can take a look at knownhost or godaddy itself, what about the amount of visitors on your website(s) ?
I believe that Topxen.com as well as Hostingsource.com will be perfect place for getting feature-rich VPS deals. These truly appreciable companies will always be recommended to all those looking for genuine and reliable hosts.
Think of trying a VPS from b2vps.com. They have provided them a low on Linux and Windows OSs and prices are quite affordable.
Is the charge made according to actual usage or are you expected to pre-pay for a potential overage? It is better not to go for hosts that expect you to prepay for overages, since it is very hard to forsee when your site will exceed its bandwidth and by how much.
I am satisfied with cheap and realy nice working (using for 4-5 months) HERE They have plans from 1Gb RAM/ 10GB HDD from $3.5 but often offer some kind of promo or something activities, so last time it was 2GB RAM / 20GB HDD for something about $8. Changed a lot of VPS providers in past 4-5 years but this one are my pick number one in terms of price / quality so they are highly recommended. Especially because software that I am running on VPS is very 'agresive' in eating system resources, and from start never had problem on their VPSs and that was NOT sitation on other cheap VPS privders. Usually provider when see that my 10 VPS each 2GB RAM 'eat' all that RAM (20Gb) told me something about ' tech issues' and ask me to move to another privder, or even "better", just shut down my servers without explanation and never respond to support emails. Also maybe I should open thread to provide list of VPS who you should never buy services from
read the OP post, it clearly states the budget! also OP look in the offer section, you will find millions
