Hello, everyone. I'm currently in the process of looking for a good blog to either co-write for, or be the sole writer for. I've been extremely interested in getting into blogging, but I don't have the monetary resources to set one up myself. I'm not looking to get money out of this, but I am looking for a great experience where I will be able to network with people and expand my horizons in the ways only blogging allows you to do. For this reason, I'm looking to hopefully get a good chance to get on a blog. Do you have a blog that you don't have time to write for? Allow me to take it over, and we can share whatever profits 50/50. I'd also be interested in co-writing a blog or starting up a new blog with someone. The blogs will obviously have to be in the range of topics of my interest (see list below). I can also be a periodic guest poster, if that suits someone. Topics I can Blog About: Gaming Game Design/Development Programming Technology Internet Web 2.0 Freelance Writing Writing Freelancing Getting Things Done Windows (Vista or XP) Linux Open Source Software Webware (Web Apps) Music If anyone thinks they might have an opportunity I'd appreciate it if you got in contact with me somehow. You can post here, PM, MSN, or Email. It doesn't matter to me. For my Email address you can just use my MSN address, which is located under the reputation counter (for those that don't know). Thanks for reading this, and I hope someone has an opportunity available for me.
Why not start out with a free hosted blog like Blogger, or Wordpress ? That way you can get your feet wet. If you use blogger, maybe you can make enough with a little adsense to get yourself a domain and some hosting, while you are learning. Sharing a blog with someone may not be the right move, since any blogger making money is not going to turn the ropes over to someone else, and anyone who would is probably not making any money. Set one upfor yourself, and in the near future, if you are still looking for an opportunity to write for someone, you will have a few articles and posts online to show your skills and knowledge.....of course by then you will want your own.
@hmansfield - Well, I obviously wouldn't partner with just anyone. Blogger and WordPress blogs don't give you the same feel as self hosted blogs do, as I've tried them already. Thanks for the words of advice, though. @Xavier 3D - I sent you a PM.
I guess I should add that I'm not interested in spammy blogs, or blogs with 50 words of original content, and then stuff copied from somewhere else, as I've gotten some PMs for that stuff.
No, I don't have ZERO experience in terms of writing for blogs, but managing one(technical junk), and promoting it, well I have no clue where to go there.
Its very easy to start your own blog. Here are a few tips: http://www.kushmoney.com/2008/06/16/blogspot-bloggers/
Thanks for the tips, but I'm trying to get my feet wet and I honestly don't really have the money to invest in good hosting.
Hi, if you are interested to write about backup software and short tips about how to backup several apps and games, let me know. Maybe I have what you are looking for.
well if you like review writing of any of those topics i.e review writing on technology or somthing then i can host and create you a blog. Go for a subdomain blog like www.choseit.com , ad free 150mb space and increased if needed short domain (beats wordpress ) and i run it so you can always contact me here or via email
Again, I kind of wanted it to be on a domain and be self-hosted. I know beggars can't be choosy, but if I could always suck it up on WordPress if I need to.
whats wrong with someone hosting a domain name installing wordpress and handing you the ftp keys to the domain your in charge off? you dont need control panel access to run a blog, in any sense of the word.
Nothing is wrong with that, but you offered me a subdomain from choseit. Unless, the first part of your post was completely separate from your second part, in which case I misunderstood that.
if you liked business writing i have purelybusinessnews.com latestbusinessnewsreports if you like law i have thinklaw.co.uk if you like review writing i have GetSeriousReviews.com ill happily set them all up add wordpress and hand you a ftp and pass for one so you can setup as you like, granted id have myself as the admin and you as co-admin id leave everything to you to run but i dont like spammed up blogs full of ads where your trying to make money from them, ill also upload a whole host of plugins to save you time if you like. I have wrote for alot of othe rpeoples blogs so i have a good amount of experiance (over 600 blogs wrote in the space of 4 months) my experiance is all in business, health and review writing tho.
I agree .. the community hosted ones limit options too and can control you pretty heavily but they are good for people just starting up that don't have much experience. Plus you could probably get a domain name, forward to a free one until you could get hosting.
