looking for api of airline ticket booking

    Hello All,

I am kind of doing research on developing a travel-website which will also have a module to book air-line tickets. Nowadays there are many websites which offers Airline Ticket Booking options. What I am looking for is to provide ticket booking service to domestic (india) as well as interntaional. In india now there are many low cost cariers also. My question is to provide a common search engine as well as ticket booking service do I need to individually go to each airlines and get their schedule API as well as booking API ? I know there are API providers like AMADEUS which can be used for booking all the major domestic / international airlines. But they does not service the Low Cost Services. So it will require a seperate system to handle the Low cost sector.

Can anyone guide me how to go about this.

This might not be exactly what you were after but might help. ian.com provide flight, hotel, etc booking backends, where you can add your sites basic design to.

not as controlling as an api, but easier.

You will have to find out what online reservation the LCC in question uses. Many of them use the same software on the backend. Then you will have to get their permission to perform transactions against it.

Ian is a good one to use and I think is considered the industry standard. To use them you either have to give a good investment to them for co-marketing and software or your website must be receiving pretty high traffic for a sustained period of time for them to implement the API. You could always use an affiliate API hybrid that many such as Orbitz or Priceline offer.

Assuming the API is powered by the same engine that powers your main trip search, it seems to be entirely missing out on LCC flights, at least for the routes I tried.
