I am looking to hire an SEO company to assist our internet marketing efforts and increase our position in the search engines. I'm pretty experienced in SEO but frankly I just dont have the time to keep pushing my site up the ranks. I'm looking to outsource all the link building efforts, marketing through relative blogs/websites, etc. What do you look for when hiring an SEO company? Its easy to claim wild results in SEO so I am concerned about pumping my money down a rat hole without a decent return. While I would love to hear your personal recommendations on who to use.. I assume not approparite for this forum (PM me if you really love your seo company Thanks, Mike
Well, since you're looking for a link building (or as Eric Ward calls it, content publicist) service, I'd ask to see what types of links they typically get. I'm personally not fond (as both a user and a service provider) of blog comments, (most) directory submissions, forum posts/signatures (sorry, but I'm an Advisor on SitePoint, an administrator at SEO.com, and moderate other forums - it comes with the territory), or spamming social media sites. Instead, I prefer acquiring merit-based links, and if I had to look for a service provider (even if it was to recommend one to a client because I was too busy with something like planning my recently deceased mother's funeral or just otherwise too swamped with work) I'd actively seek one out that specializes in acquiring the same types of links I do and for the same reasons. I'm sorry if it sounded like I was trying to promote myself - I'm not. I just get really sick of seeing people advocating "The Unholy Trinity" of blog comments, forum posts/sigs and social media spam as "the best sources of links EVAR" when I know there are far superior options available that will stand the test of time.
And that is what I am after.. Someone who actually builds valuable links that dont just pass PR (which dont get me wrong.. I want) but also provide relavent marketing. But its very tough to seperate the wheat from the chaff when looking at a kinda virtual product like SEO. Mike
Good SEO companies... OFFER: To disclose their methods to you so you can ensure only white hat techniques will be employed Experience and a list of previous "wins" they can direct you to look at. Specific plan of action (or will tailor one to your specific needs) to document their progress and report back at specific intervals. Do NOT: Promise you any sort of specific position in google rankings. rely on any one technique or method Promise overnight success. In closing.. great SEO companies cost a lot of money... you get what you pay for... look for a company that has a good reputation.. one they want to protect and expand upon by delivering success for your business... chances are that company isn't going to be found here on DP. If they speak broken English and only accept paypal its likely not a reputable full service SEO firm.
Well, that's when you check out their portfolios and ask for references from their clients. (Better yet, ask them for their client list, and contact them directly.) You can usually get a very good idea of what types of links they acquire by looking at their own sites as well as their clients'. Usually. (For example, that wouldn't work with me because I never bothered to optimize my site as I was still working on it at the time, and then I had to literally drop everything as my mother's health started to fail. Right now I'm working on rebuilding the site from the ground up and will be making a HUGE push for incoming links once the new site goes live.)
Well, acquiring merits based links are good but accordingly you have to also working on other off page stuff like directory submission, article submission and scial bookmarking, your should do all the stuffs only quality sites. All time buying link in not going to be a good policy accordingly with other work you can buy. Because you would like see your website's good ranking then links should be diversify. Presenly I am working as media buyer of some reputed casino sites like 888 and 777. If you would like to buy links you have to mantain many metrcs of the link otherwise your money will be wasted.
