I already have a very established VBulletin forum, v. 3.8.4 PL2, and I had a webmaster/SEO developer who helped me tremendously with my website to date. He has since moved on to a different line of work, so I'm looking for someone new. Not that PR counts for much, but with very little effort on my end, the site had a PR6 for a few years (now down to a PR5 since I lost a PR8 link recently). I've got a lot of things on my plate that I need to get done for the website, including upgrading to newer versions, spam prevention, SEO work, and small/large custom ad ons and projects. I've got a lot of work to keep someone busy for a while. I can and currently do a lot of the basic coding and admin work. I am an established business executive (Chief Financial Officer), and just don't have the time/expertise for the more intricate work. The ideal person would be versed and up to date on the latest in SEO, know how to customize and upgrade the VBulletin forums, help with one off customizations, and be 100% trustworthy. Anyone here know of someone that fits the bill? References and other work performed are required, as well as capabilities and hourly rates. Thanks!
Like, what do you need help with?. vBulletin forums are good for SEO, right out the box. You need someone to build links for you, or?
The op is not looking for someone that knows "just out of the box" he is looking for a highly skilled person that knows the ins and outs of VB., he is looking for someone that knows what it takes to get a forum out of the box, and make it it a success. Anyone can setup a forum out of the box, but how many of those out of the box forums are going to be a success...my guess is 0% When every forum pretty much does the same thing, then everything gets diluted... he is looking for someone that knows more then the rest so he can get the forum in a much better position with search engines...but hey, I could be wrong... I do not blame him either...whats the dern point if nearly every forum has SEO options now...so what? I do not want to be like the next out of the boxer either...
I see mixed reviews from people using VBSEO. Some have reported great success, while others report "wtf is going on?" so this leads me to believe it really wanst vbseo that lead the site to success, but what the site had to offer to begin with, and every site using VBSEO is not going to be a great success, it may not be all vbseo, but more of the actual website, now I am not saying that VBSEO did not play a decent role, but if it was all vbseo, then why are not all sites successful?
I think that content might be the key. Im running a really small forum with 20 000 members and 20 to 100 posts daily. So its almost dead. And what VBSEO does is really amazing. My site is page rank 4 ( seo does clean the code ) and posts from my forum appear on 1st google page the day after. It this is not magic I don't know what is. Never seen any better software and im not working for them.
