Looking for an ebay alternative

I have been checking out internet auction sites to get away from ebay due to their rising fees.

Out of this we developed a BBB trusted auction site that is offered at a fraction of what you would get charged at ebay. Also we give you more extra's that they charge you for. For only 0.25, You can list your item with 3 pictures, and have the option to use a buy now and/or a reserve price. A frontpage listing for only $1.50, when it costs $20 at the other site.

Enough of me talking! Check it out! https://www.auctionjunkie.net

Safe, Secure, and Affordable...your place to shop, especially when gas is over $4 a gallon!

    Jay :)

Nobody appreciates spam, that's a fact.

I'll offer some constructive criticism though. The appeal of eBay over its alternatives (of which I would not count this one of) is its tremendously wide audience. You can list an item and have it seen by thousands, sometimes millions of interested buyers. It looks like your service has about 10 visitors a month, based on the complete lack of listings and the million plus alexa rating.

The design is... not appealing. The buttons are aesthetically unattractive and the logo looks unprofessional, to say the least. You accept "Xcoin", which nobody has ever heard of, and provide no reasons to go with your service over ebay.

    You say,
That's because nobody visits your front page.

This is definitely not spam, if it were it would be in your email inbox. If I'm not mistaken the thread is for general marketing, ebay alternative...or am I mistaken.
Ebay was not built in a day and I know that we will not have miraculous traffic and eye popping graphics that fit everyone's approval.
I know that we are one of a handful that is even listed by the Better Business Bureau, which gives customers piece of mind.
And, as always, there are people out there like you who bash anyone or anything that you don't approve of. As a customer I would only listen to those who actually use a product or has actually joined the site, not one who has no practical experience.
Thanks for the input, we will take in into consideration.

Spam is not constrained to email. This is not the forum for you to market, this is a forum for people to ask questions about marketing. eBay is listed in the BBB too, it doesn't mean a thing.

    eBay:
BBB Accreditation Status: This company has been a BBB Accredited business since September 1998. This means it supports the BBB's services to the public and meets our BBB Accreditation standards.

Uh, how could I listen to someone who has joined the site if nobody uses it? eBay didn't start in a day but you bet they didn't go trolling through web forums posting their address.

of course there are other auction sites but for most niches ebay is the way to go . they have been around for over 10 years and those who are not computer literate still know of ebay and that is where they search first

Well, His site dose have some up sides it is cheep very cheep and if you mail your item to other countries with ease then This is a OK site.

I say mail to other countries because there is likely to be people few and far between.

Now my tip, Maybe aim your site at clothing or electronics, A country to begin with Might also be a good idea, This will help you build up a user base that are not going to run of to ebay.com or ebay.com.au or other ebays, get what I'm saying.

For an example my site in the sig is about computer hardware not computers. how ever I still have next to no members but thats not the point there dedicated, see what I'm saying?
