hey guys I’m looking an e-store tutorial I really appreciate your help I’m just a starter for php, hope you can help… tnx…
i tried os commerce once, but it looks like it was only developed to sell computer hardware. for some things you just cant use it, and its a pain to just "rewrite" the code untill it fits. if you build your own dedicated shop its probably 5-10 times faster than os commerce and easier to seo.
i agree that building your own software is better, but it will take a lot of time to do it well. He is begginer so it will be very hard..
no, i dont think so. i tried to set up a store for some wine seller, but in this county you had to add some more info to each item, like price per quantity, vol.%, all kind of crap ... after a few days i gave up with oscommerce, it was just too much work. just 2 weeks later i was done with my shop: server side image scaling, lists "similar items" under each product, great position in search engines and what a backend: i click on the order number and get bill for the customer out of the printer, another click and it prints out the parcel sticker and sends a "your stuff is on the way" email plus lots of reports: most seen items, categories by profit, ... - damm sweet. but i really hate it if i get this "you have a new order" emails on weekends
is there any tutorial for the coz I’m planning to develop my own customize estore or oscommerce, tnx for the reply guys…

Find some good ebooks online. I believe oscommerce is good for beginners but in the end you are better off coding your own site.
