Hi I just got a new site (picked it up pretty cheap) It is brand new. I dont have alot of seo experience so I thought I would ask for some advise.
It is a click bank affiliate site that promotes alot of clickbank products. I dont really know what keyword/phrases to go for.
I would assume for each catorgorty do seo for that.
but more advise would be apriceited.

    here is the url www.guidesandsoftware.com
should i maybe change the url as well to maybe include "ebooks"?

not should if this site will turn out to be a good investment or not but I hope i will have some fun and learn abit:)

    thanks
    Mark

Spend a few hours scouring the Google Adwords keyword tool or any of these keyword research software programs. Then analyze the websites ranking high for those keywords. Determine if you have the time and resources to compete with these sites. To be honest, to be able to compete, your website will need some work. You may not be able to find a great keyword to use for your homepage, but you could focus on building links to internal pages instead.

first of all give some time on finding the proper keyword for you site. Once you are over with it. The most powerful keyword should be used in the titles of website and rest will be used as proper tagging if you use wordpress else use in pages head title.

Your site running on a script which scarps clickbank listing, category wise. Unfortunately what SEO you can do to your site is very minimal.

If you script has any decent template system go through it to make required change like title and meta data etc. Of course do some keyword research to find some good keywords.

Also setup a home page with a keyword rich article with links to various categories. For that you may have to move your script to a directory to lower like www.yoursite.com/dir/ or see if you can fit that article in the index page of your script.
