Ok I have a forum that I run adsense on (of course). Now I feel that I have a niche market and I get around 6000 - 8000 vists a month. So around 225-250 a day. How can I increase my traffic? When you search for what my forum and site is about it comes up #1 in yahoo, msn and google at googlerankings.com. I just dont feel that I am getting enough traffic to boost my google ads. Thanks
Is your forum part of a larger site? If not, build a site around it, rich with content, blog the most interesting threads, etc. Put Adsense in those places as well.
I am trying to build the site as a larger site and not just a forum. I have articles and content written by "pros" in the bussiness with their permission of course. I have content with relevent information to what the forum is about. But if I search for that information I cannot seem to get any of it to come up within search engines. As for a marketing plan.. no not really. I try to get links on other relevent sites by emailing and asking for exchanges but that has been hard to get. I have just signed up for adwords but I really dont have much of a budget to work with. Thanks
It is not so easy to rank in the SEs if your content is not unique. You'd better SEO your site to the teeth, I'd say. If your ads pay enough per click to warrant it, run an ad campaign. Start small and cheap. Experiment, test, track, tweak, repeat...
What would be the BEST way to search optimize the site? I did the google sitemap thing. What could I be missing? Thanks
I would focus on building my Link Popularity along with content. Content and Links will build your traffic. It looks like you are getting pretty good number of visits per day. How many clicks do you get per day on average? What is your average click through rate? How are your adsense ads set up on your site? If you have them on the right I would move them elsewhere. Sometimes changing the layout of your ads can increase your clicks. I have a site that gets a few thousand more per month than your site. I get about 30 to 50 clicks per day. transduction,
