hey guys, i was wondering if any of you could help me out. when i was in college last year we had to create a website as one of our assignments so i based mine on a local website (estate agents) i created my own template but used a couple of images off their real website including their logo to add to the realism and then uploaded it to the internet. i then left college but forgot about the uploaded site which was on a free webhost. i recieved an email yesterday asking about who did i get permission off to use their images and logo. so i emailed them back explaining the situation and took the site down right away. i never tried to pretend to be them or make any money off the site what so ever and the site even had all their contact information on. i realise what i did was stupid but i had no bad intentions, i just didnt realise what i done at the time was actually wrong, obviously i do now and was wondering what type of trouble im likely to get into. thanks for your replies in advance
I had something similar happen on a bit torrent site. I accidentally downloaded PacMan, freakin' PACMAN! I don't play any games, so it was an accident. My ISP wrote me a nastygram, I called this copyright infringement unit in Wash D.C. said I deleted it from my HD. They said thank you. End of story. Tell them you are sorry. They were something somebody gave you at school. No harm, no foul. Bye-bye.
