Hi everyone. I'm going to launch a Clickbank product by the end of the month but that is all I know at this point. I'm just getting started researching target markets and from there will be looking for options to create the actual offering. Have any of you who have been through this process before got suggestions or "I wish I had known before I tried it" kinds of things? Specifically: 1) How did you evaluate the target market you chose? Did it work out like you expected? 2) At what point do you feel that there is too much competition in a niche? Or do you believe that a lot of competition merely indicates a good market and count your knowledge and skill to get your share? 3) Is original content creation the way to go or have you found that tweaking some PLR docs and rolling them out ends up about the same in the end? 4) My instinct is to want to genuinely deliver value in exchange for the sales price to the consumer. Is that naive in this game where just converting appears to be the focus? Thanks in advance for sharing any thoughts and experiences you have with me. Korak
1) There are too many ways to evaluate your "Hungry Crowd". 2) I think that publishing another "How to Make Money" product would be pretty hard. Unless you have a huge list or great contacts for JV - you will fail (personal experience ) 3) Both ways could work out. However, I believe if marketed correctly - you will be more successful with an ORIGINAL Product. 4) Delivering great value is the key to your success. Great value = happy customers = less refunds = FREE word of mouth publicity = more $$$. ...just my $0.02
Also remember its more about marketing (attracting affiliates) than the actual product. As long as your sales page converts well and your product doesnt get too many refunds thats all you need. The rest lies within getting enough and the right affiliates to promote your product.
Thanks for the insights wow & alex. I know very little about attracting affiliates. Do you have any recommendations on getting enough and the right affiliates? Or good resources that you have used to help you do so? I would really appreciate it!
One of the good ways to get affiliates it to prove them that your product is worth selling, you ain't fooling anyone 1) Start a PPC Campaign promoting your product 2) Make sure your sales page converts at least 1:50 (1:20 and less is GOLD) 3) Do this until your product's gravity starts to rise a bit (at least 3-4) 4) If within a week you've been successfully selling and not getting many refunds (I'd say 5% is the best refund rate you could have) - start promoting to affiliates. If you can prove that it converts well - you ve got a winner Alex
1. I choose big markets because: 2. Competition is a good thing, it means people are making money in the market... think about that. 3. I steer clear from PLR, real people do not want to read the same garbage over and over. Come up with good original content for your article marketing, you can find some tips at http://www.thekaizenbusiness.com/?p=177 and http://www.thekaizenbusiness.com/?p=174
Give away at least 51% commissions. Top affiliates like to see big commmissions. Give a affiliate list. Contact a few people that are on clickbank that deal a little bit with your niche. They can back end sell your product to there clients (if its a good product) That way real buyers are looking at it. Give the people REAL VALUE. Not just the same old ebook stuff. But videos/audios/freebies etc.. I have had a few things on clickbank before and have done real well. Top affiliates can really turn the tables though. Also another thing I have used that worked well for me was limiting supply. And I MEAN REALLY limiting it. Not just a sales pitch but say as of X date I will take it off the market for at least 60 days etc... You will be surprised how it works. And then bring it back after 60 days build your list as people will be on the waiting list etc..
Thanks for the advice and insight! I have followed the advice I've received and decided to create an original product. I'm contracting an author through elance to write an ebook for me. I'm targeting a particular cosmetic surgery and am trying to think of bonus materials I could provide to help sell the product. What kind of things come to mind for you folks regarding bonus materials that would be good in that segment? I'm not sure yet...
Excellent advice Alex!, Now I have some questions that you kind of touched upon already. I think I want to go into the "make money" industry. You say that it would be very difficult without JV and super contacts, is this always true, and if so how would you go about doing this? NCmedia may be able to touch on this. Also I noticed a lot of these programs offer 50%-65%, why not 75%? You also mention that you should promote your product and get 1:50 conversion rate, and low refunds. I totally agree on this, almost everyone of my programs convert at least that, so why would you want to promote a product 1:200 unless its a huge commission. I'm really serious about this, and have taken tonight just to work on my make money product. What I'm wondering is, I really don't like partnerships, I would love a good partner, but that is unlikely to find. I do plan to spend some money on this in the future, what kind of money should I plan to spend on this, Mass emails, promoting etc..? Can a high clickbank gravity really do 90% of my advertising for me?
