Hi, I'm about to start a blog using wordpress on my own domain and want it to be as SEO-tweaked as possible. I'm looking for a script or plugin that will assign a <h1> tag to the most recent post on the homepage and give <h2> to all other on that page. From what I have read this is supposed to be great for SEO. I don't know php but the script should be pretty simple and just involves a loop and an if . If you some up with this script yourself then you could publish it and get worldwide blog-respect.
most wordpress templates put the title of the blog in H1 and the post titles are H2. I generally think this is the best assuming that your main keywords are in the blog title.
Thats just it, my domain doesn't have keywords in. I don't even know what my keywords will be but I think having more specific <h1> tags will be good for the 'long tail' of search results. This technique was recommended by acmetech.com, theundersigned.net and dech.co.uk.
