    Hello,

I would like to start creating my own free WP themes, and I don't want to build them from scratch! Is there some framework I could use for this, or should I create my own? What are you using for this?

    Thanks!

Look at the Thematic and Carrington frameworks. They're both pretty good. There are quite a few out there actually.

There are lots of frameworks out there... some are paid and some are for free.
You can try Thesis, Genesis or Thematic. These are the best! And for responsive website try PageLines or Whiteboard.

    Check out Artisteer
It gives total control over all theme elements without need for any code.
Want inspiration? ..push the "idea" icon, and the software builds on previous input to assist in coordination.
Results may be viewed at emvwebsource.

Thematic is still good and enough to make you save time.

A framework is like a theme that allows the developer to design around the themes core and provides advanced features and functions. Wordpress is a free open source blogging site where user can make blogs.
