Cool Text is great for fast rendering text and getting fonts. You can also render in many different file types. PNG with transparency is my favorite!!!! I don't know about cool text generating code though.

Cool text is highly recommended!

 

Forgot to add,

Adobe Illustrator is the real way that you are supposed to go about doing this. Cooltext would be considered a noob tool. But hell, to each there own I say. I personally love cooltext.
