    If I were to guess what Windows-Update-Advisor's confusion was, I'd say it's in mistaking VB for meaning Visual Basic, when you meant it to be vBulletin. In a community such as DP, I suppose most people would assume VB to be the message board platform, but a programmer's first impression is Microsoft's programming language.
