You've your own server? If so, then very good. I think having a own server is better than using Share Hosting. As some buddies already told you to use traffic program, so you can follow their suggestion. Lots of websites have traffic selling service, I hope those traffic will be best for you to test you new server.
Lol! It's nothing the question of safe. If you just want to test your server....then this is only the way that you can test your server's traffic load and can examine how the server is react. Or if have your own current site on server..and wanting to get profit for both your site and server test, then I don't recommended for this tic. You've to find for unique and quality traffics for it. Basically paid traffics are always want to get paid from your end; they never come to any website to pay from their pocket.
