Looking for a starting point.

Hello all my first post. Been reading alot of the posts and see alot of work goes into getting free traffic to a site. Since i'm doing everything by myself, which part of marketing do you think will be the most effective? And where to start?

If you are planning on any kind of revenue whether it be from sales or CPC, you need traffic. All kinds of marketing are effective for traffic but if you focus on certain traffic methods, they work better.

For example, for product sales - video + article marketing works best. They work much better than SEO

 

If you want to start getting traffic look into easy free methods such as social bookmarking, twitter, youtube videos (add watermarks), forums, blog posts.

Adding frequent and quality content to your site will get the search engine traffic coming, which is some of the best you'll get trust me.

What are your goals with this site? is it adsense revenue, affiliate sales?

 

Start it from your interest and then try to build your own website.Then learn how to market it.I think there is so
much information available here.Try to search it.

 

If you're just starting out then I would strongly recommend article marketing as it is free

 

I would say try affiliate marketing with products like niche blitzkrieg or something along those lines. You'll definitely find something that is suiteable.

Also you could even try to get into adsense ads on websites, but first you need to build a website using something like wordpress.

 

Honestly, where you should start your marketing efforts really depends on what you are promoting or selling. Do you already have your website up and running? If yes and you don't mind sharing, that would probably help us help you.

i'm looking to make good profit from adsense right now but i'm also in a bunch of affilate programs. made one sale so far. my site is sports related. will ask for review of site after my tenth post.
