    Ya I have a blog thats a couple months old, and I am looking to get some feedback from some of you guys who know the ins and outs of successful blogs/websites.

    I only ask because I am still brand new at this, learning by the day. So anything you guys could help me on, or tell me needs fixing, removal, changes,et cetera I will be incredibly appreciative. And don't hold back, I have thick skin, if you don't like something tell me. I would rather get it fixed now then have is fester for months only to realize the problem down the road.

    My Site---> www.HyerStandard.com

    Thanks a lot!

    -Matt

    I'd limit the amount of posts on the front page.

    OK, first of all, nice layout and seriously, it is great to see a political blog with such good writings and with no clutter in your style and blog layout. If you are running on Wordpress, I would recommend you to get a free magazine style theme or to pay for it. One that will suit your site will be Structure by Justin Tadlock. Try Googling it.

    The reason I advise you to go for a magazine style theme is that you will have the chance to made your front page more compact and filled, without so much scrolling. Also, it enhances your blog internal navigation, extending the time a visitor stays on your blog.

    One thing that you should notice is that 90% of the things on your sidebar are outgoing, meaning a click will send your readers away. Cut them down if possible and provide links to your popular post, recent post and categories just to offer your visitors more.

    Yes it does. In fact, after the recent update, it is compatible with WP2.5 as well. :)

    My wp admin panel of thewwwblog.com reads -

    So that does indicate that structure theme supports widgets and also is compatible with 2.5 version.

    Wow, thank you guys so much for the feedback it's incredibly helpful for someone like me, being as though I am not as "web knowledgeable" as I hope to be in future, in making a site, which i truly enjoy maintain, even better.
    I was wondering about that, and thank you for affirming that it should in fact be limited, I have since acted on that advice and adjusted the number of postins appearing on the first page. Again, thank you.
    it's funny you said that because I had been thinking the same thing. I am working on fixing that somewhat annoying problem as we speak.

    I have been thinking about moving to a Moveable type format? Would your advice be possible using that platform? And I am currently using the blogger platform not WP, is there any magazine style layouts you could recommend?
    I am on my way to the site you gave the link for as we speak. Thanks for steering me in that direction. And again thanks to all you guys for offering your much appreciated feedback and suggestions.
