    Hi,
Im planning to start a social networking site similar to orkut, myspace and all..

    my budget is around 300$.

So anyone can advice me to go with which one

I already reviewed some scripts like
    phpfox
    handshakes
    2coolcode
    ourspace and all
with all these i found phpfox more attractive..

    What you people think.

No script i found as addictive as orkut site with the facility of scrapping and
rating by cool, sexy, fan and other options

is there any scripts available with all these features

    Kindly advice

    Thanks in advance
    :)

There is plenty of clones of every major script out there for the fraction of the 300$ you want to pay. Ask in a forum like scriptlance and you will be bombarded with answers and cheap good scripts.

I can give you the one i have for Bangkoksexy.com or Chatthailand.com for 10 $ if you want something to start off with. It does not have any forum but its a voting script with loads of extra functions :)

    Hi,

PHP Fox is the one script that seems to have stood the test of a lot of people and webmasters. It seems to have just about every features imaginable for a social networking script including:

    forum
    shoutbox
    gallery
    blogs
    rates
    polls
    groups
    classifieds
    quizes
    events

You can see all of the features here.

    Hope this helps :),

I Use phpfox on my social networking website. It looks good on the outside with lots of features but once you start using the script, the bugs will drive you up against the wall... still i would recommend it but make sure you know php language as you will have to spend sometime looking through the code...

What niche are you getting into? Just curious...

I think Google spent a few dollars for Orkut to look and feel like it does. I think it's something slightly north of $300. Same goes for myspace. I helped build a site that gets 350 million monthly page views and we also spent something north of $300 coding it. For that kind of money, you should be thankful that you have code like phpfox or others to get you started. All of these solutions require the work of the purchaser to customize it so that it's far more usable than it is out of the box. IMHO the two leaders are Handshakes and PHPFox, owning licenses of each, and each has its pros and serious issues. I've created somewhat large sites with both (not the one above) and each has limitations. It all depends upon how you envision your site working and what you're trying to accomplish. PHPFox is by far the easier to get mods installed and you'd best be happy with the look and feel because most modifications will be css changes. Handshakes looks pretty good out of the box with their built in stuff but modifying it, while it can be done to specific levels of precision, is very time consuming. There are not as many mods but its built in features are much more streamlined and complete. Yet it has its own issues too. Figure out what you're trying to accomplish and then see which one fits your needs best atm. But getting anywhere near the bigger sites will require a much larger cash investment.

    Hey,

I was looking for a similar kind of SNS as that of orkut or hi5, :confused:but was not able to find out any thing pretty closer. As suggested by Rajansslance, i have visited http://www.agriya.com/orbit.html I was able to find out something, that I was actually searching for like Scrapbook, videosharing, groups, forum, blogs and many . Also i have contacted the online support to inquire about the future updates, got the answers to be all for FREE,:) that was nice to here. However, the initial price makes me to think on whether to go on for it or not..

can any one suggest me whether to go on for it..?

    Thanks in advance..

I was surprised by the price of Agriya and the fact that the features were pretty basic. Yes there are things "there" but not well implemented and the navigation to find things is poor. Promising, perhaps, but I wouldn't shell out at anywhere near that price.
