Looking for a Script for Images with Categories

I have a hobby site. I would like users to be able to upload pix of their stuff and label it and then allow others to search by keyword or for me to list the photos by categories.

Any direction on a script for that?

A bonus would be for it to be able to be joined with a forum (same username, password).

    Thanks

may be you wqish to have a look at some of the existing photo-galleries to see how others use them - see right side "main menu" >> categories to see all possible variations as standalone or integrated into various CMS - click on some of the galleries to get an idea of the presentation options.

one last important point about this fine SW

since you can fully integrate gallery2 into existing CMS

I have never used coppermine, I will check it out.

G2 is really complex. I used G1 for years. I went back to it ater 6 months of g2. I really need people to be able to upload a few pix, tag each one, and write a comment on each. I also would like to be able to link its users to a forum.

    Thanks

Hundreds is the problem. You have to wade through 80% which are no longer active and the majority that are only a php image gallery with no other functionality.

I am looking to build a site around the ability of a user to upload a couple pics on a specific subject with some commentary.
