Well, Russian VPS's have mostly alot better price than you get here at digitalpoint, only problem being is that most of them websites are written in Russian, only.
well alot of russian hosting is very expensive but if you choose a country next to russia they tend to be very cheap.......My freind has hosting in uzbekistan and has semi dedicated......very fast and they alow most things and have good uptime
Not sure if that is close to the Russia at all. In Russia there are specific rules for the web sites to be hosted and as far as I know for there are specific rules for the bandwidth as well there.
does anyone know of a good russian (or a country with similar legal...stubbornness) vps host? all i need is a vpn (id prefer to run my own vpn rather than rent a straight vpn from someone) for web traffic, chat, etc. probably <10gb/month traffic. as long as it's consistently fast (i.e. 5mbit or so) with decent response times (under 1000 ms; cant expect miracles when youre routing literally half way around the world and back) im not doing anything illegal (not even torrents lol), i just would like to know people cant just call some american datacenter and get my real ip in a matter of hours without the datacenter even putting up a fight. im not american but its not like it matters if youre in a "western" nation, they all share info. edit: running a vpn right now on a vps, using 6 mb ram (got rid of apache and other crap i dont need), 700 mb disk space with os and gcc being the major hogs, and practically no cpu usage. i really dont need a big fancy package here. the cheaper the better, that way i can get more than one vps without breaking the bank.
well i wud suugest iran as a option but they can be unreliable at times....but spoze u could try sweden or netherlands or even parma ...those are only ones i can think of at this time
We're looking for hosting in Uzbekistan and, frankly, any unusual country locations. Must be able to lease a full server - no VPS - and much prefer (and will pay fairly for) unmetered bandwidth versus capped limits.
