That's probably not a good way to go with getting quotes. I personally don't take much outside/freelance work anymore, and if you want anyone even remotely serious and professional quality, they're probably not going to just search the forums and PM people to find out about a project. Your best bet is to either contact some coders, or put up a full detail list and a budget you had in mind.

If you got your quote than all good ;) Just be wary of what level of skill you're tracking down.

I code myself, by hand, on notepad, since 1995, but have little time to do so. I'll have an eye on it. I know what we're talking about ;)

Good man :D It seems less and less people have any concept of what notepad is anymore, they want Dreamweaver and little tools to do everything for them. Sad day

Exactly. That's why I have little time. I got a job, after the 12 y/o neighbor's kid was doing website with frontpage and dreamweaver for 2 chup a chups!
Then, they call me to align that picture a little bit more on the right and make the pop up working!

Haha, that's how the schools are teaching now, it's really kind of depressing. Frontpage is an abomination, and it's all of these "advancements" that are making skilled programmers more and more rare. Why bother learning a real language when you can get something close to what you want with a GUI :(

I agree. Oh well, I get the HTML, Java, PHP and Mysql in my head.
It's just personal satisfaction, that's about it.
    Nobody cares anyway...

I am having a same experience, I was started doing coding in VI editor. and till today i remember how we were fighting to make our page browser compatible... Its true i am pretty new (only 3+) to the web development and tried various editors. They are helpful if you know HTML and CSS thoroughly ......

By the way even i was doing some freelancing, and got lot of issues while working with different people and found lot people hardly have an idea about what they want, moreover they want it to be developed quickly and of course with money next to nothing .. and it lead in a phase where good developers either don't do freelancing or only stick to the right clients for longer period of time...

I hope you got my point and take everything in mind before selecting a coder and freelancer.

you must have all these issue in mind. i have posted to make others get feel of same.
