I have started a couple of websites similar to smashingmagzine style. all you need to do is to get some latest tips/tricks in web design/development stuff and list it in an article format and post it to my blog. there are a lot of easier ways to do that but you need to be skilled in web design area otherwise you cant build a quality content and tips for our visitors.
