Hello! I'm currently looking for a mentor who has some spare time to get me started with SEO and online marketing. I have read about SEO several times, but I'm still a little stuck at times. I'm not confident enough and as a result of it, I often go to the wrong direction. If anyone here is kind enough to be my mentor, I'll greatly appreciate it.
The ones who really know SEO won't bother teaching others The ones who ofer to teach you aren't Experts learn yourself ... read test experiment ...
Well, I guess that's true. I've read several articles but I honestly admit that I'm a little lost. Not completely, but a little. Anyone mind showing me a few directions? Like which article I should be reading, what I should be going for as a beginner.
I would suggest you to keep trying and learn from your mistakes. You know, when you hear everyone saying "TAKE ACTION" they give you the best advice possible! You must take action.. I will look for something for you, should have some guides
Thank you for your advice. I often look out for SEO articles and I read them thoroughly. I've done most of the things I've learnt but somehow, somewhere, I feel a little lost.
Hi PressKean, Tell us a little about yourself. What can you do right now? Can you build sites using html/css? Can you use php? If you include more details it makes it easier to help you. Cheers MB
Its true that most of the marketers out there are trying to sell as much as possible to a newbie. But still you can find a good mentor, keep looking google for experts read their blogs and then contact them. If they are really a guru (not another marketer) they will be happy to help you getting started. But you need to respect them and their valuable time. Be specific, not just asking "how can i make money online?" that's annoying. You can ask for your problems or their suggestions like what product is better? which tool they prefer? or is it appropriate for you or not. Hope it helps. ashish patel affiliate marketer & blogger ashish-patel[dot]com
Hello. Thank you for your replies. @m0nk3yb0y. I can only do basic html and basic css. Nothing much and I've got very very minimal knowledge in php and other codings. Basically, I'm only doing the content+marketing etc. I've tried doing OnPage SEO and honestly, I'm not really sure if it's working. I do get traffic from google and I'm currently lost in doing OffPage SEO. I'm still trying to learn more and understand a little more before I really start doing my OffPage SEO. @ashishpatelcom. I've read several articles, but never found a blog that really teaches about SEO or online marketing. At least not for free. I honestly don't mind paying, but knowing how many people are out there just to earn some cash, I've no confidence in buying any eBooks etc. Also, I'm not here to ask "how to make money?" or "how to easily make money?". I know that everything needs effort and that money doesn't come by it's own. Thanks for your suggestion! I'd be glad if you're willing to share a few blogs that teaches SEO or online marketing.
Ok PressKean you have some skills which is good. Here's what I suggest you do: 1) Study the thread by Dan Schultz that's stickied in this forum. Really study it. Its stickied for a reason. 2) Download firefox (if you haven't already) 3) Get these plugins, Firebug, SEO Doctor. The first is, among other things, an awesome debugging tool for html/css and javascript. The second is a great tool that gives you an picture of the state of your sites on page SEO. If you like this advice so far. I willing to teach you more. I am far from a guru but I have some knowledge which I would like to share with you. Please give me your email and I'll send you me Skype. I'm not selling anything. I just wish to share what I know and help someone out. Give and you will receive this is what I believe. Yours MB
Another plugin you should get is the Web Developer toolbar. Its also helpful for debugging frustrating html issues. Yours MB
Hello. I'm willing to learn as long as someone is willing to teach me. Looking for more information from others as well!
