Alright, I own about 20 domains, some of them are up, some of them are waiting to be launched. I've hosted a few of my sites under my friend's hosting solution, SoftLayer. My other friend owns a RackSpace server. I am in the market for a new host out of my pocket. Looking at the number of domains I own, I feel like I'm looking for a dedicated server. I also use a vbulletin license, so that means I want php5, and the latest version of mySQL. I want to run vb3.8.0 at its full specs. I am planning to host a few sites for a business or two. Please help me locate a host that doesn't have DDoS attacks requently, has firewall protection, high uptime, because some of the sites I have in my portfolio seem to be big, really big names. Oh, and it doesn't hurt to know prices, too. I'm looking at least 300 bucks, but if I have to shell for more, I'll see what I can do. Several Questions: How many IP's and nameservers can this host allocate? How many domain names can be allotted through one server? What's the server backend? cPanel? I want a host who has a good reputation for high quality service. My smaller sites are only eating up below 30mb because it has mediocre traffic with a splashpage (full mainpage in the works). However, my core site is eating up close to 1 gig a month. That's what I can gather from my awstats. My blog is rather new and its getting bigger by the month. I have a few names that are old enough to be considered "big" (its not up yet, but waiting to be launched). I'm getting spam on one of my e-mail accounts that is with the same name as the aformentioned site; which tells me that the stats for that site is going to be very high. On top of that, the other one is a sex site. You don't need to know if that's going to be big or not. Its not rocket science. I have a few businesses who want to do business with me, and want me to host their site. Their sites are small thanks to the rip-off design by someone they knew "just to make money." But I know their business inside and out - been a customer for them for many years, and I know they're legacy businesses. They want to expand their business. They're opening a second business, so that's another one. There's my post of the day.
