Like in topic. Building a website where users can edit their profiles, their info/bio, some basic contact info and add profile picture. Each user has access only to his own profile. Been looking for hours on Google but either I'm using wrong search phrase or I don't know what I am looking for. Any solutions guys?
Any CMS should allow people to do that. But you mention a directory in your title... so it's a directory that does that? Lots of directory plugins for WordPress and wordpress lets users maintain their profiles Then there's wsnlinks - they used to do that, can't imagine they don't still: https://www.wsnlinks.com/
Web designers know how to design sites, they don't normally do the build and they don't normally recommend the platform to use. I think the OP is quite entitled to ask the question here and trying to brush him/her off is unfair.
That's not a web designer - that's a glorified graphic artist with the delusion of doing web-work, @sarahk But, granted, I tend to think in full stack terms - anything else is pure and utter garbage
Not really into WP but trying something with Joomla. Will see how it's gonna work. Thank you for WSN Links suggestion. I will definitely check that out. To be more precise. Let's say we have a website with a list (directory) of associations, companies or simply handymen for hire. Each (association, handyman) has an account and simply update its own "business card" by logging in. Address, email, phone. Pretty much basic information plus some picture, avatar, logo.
You can do that with any decent CMS - you should be able to extend the range of fields that a person has against their profile and they can update the info. Then it's just a matter of finding a module/plugin that can display it.
