Hello guys, I plan to open a Forum to support my website pretty Soon and I am looking for a good script that takes care of all the functions expected in a Forum. Something like Digital Point and for which the backend should be easy to handle.
DP uses vBulletin forum software. It's heavily modified for Shawn's personal preferences but essentially it's still vBulletin. Invision Power Boards is another premium forum software. If you want a very clean, basic forum which is free but still similar to vBulletin, try MyBB - default theme sucks but you can get nice ones for it. phpBB is also a more full-featured forum software. (My favourite).
i was just looking at PHP bb looks good. But I do not know CSS that well and are there any good themes. Also i want to add a ranking sytem like you see in Digital Point. For example my rank right now is Grunt.
There are tonnes of themes for phpBB - it's probably one of the most user-contributed open source scripts out there. If you head over to www.phpbb.com/styles/ you'll see many of them, and can view them interactively on a demo board There are also so many amazing MODs for phpBB - and if you have a hardcore server that can cope with large demand, then take a look at phpBB FM (FM = Fully Modded) - they added every single MOD in the PhpBB database to the script.. Which makes it amazingly functional but hard to update - you have to rely on phpBB FM to update their script for you to download. This is more for fun than anything though IMO - it's too intensive for most. I hope this helps, Chuckun
