Hello guys, I have a niche website dedicated to the RC (remote control) hobby. Members are able to have their own RC photo gallery and upload photos for free. You can visit it at: www.shay-rc.com I am trying to increase the number of visitors per day, hopefully some will join us and sign up. The website has nice traffic from Yahoo and MSN where its ranked well. With Google it will take more time I guess. I am looking for more creative ways to drive traffic to my site. I am using forms, MySpace and such. If you have a good idea how I can dramatically increase the traffic I would be very grateful. It took me long time to develop this website and I feel that I am in a point that a push will do a big different. Most of the visitors who see it for the first time like it very much. Thank you in advance, Shay
What about putting up a flyer in your local hobby stores? You could put up a PDF of the flyer and ask your dedicated visitors to do the same.
How about promoting in a magazine related to your niche. This could be a local / non-local magazine and can get you a lot of users quickly.
See if there are any kinds of hobby clubs related to them in your area. Sponsor an event or something that they do. If it's a small branch of a larger organization, look into national / international sponsorship. Review models from the biggest manufacturers. Then, create an "award" given through your site for the top in different areas. Aside from the benefit of getting review copies of the products (you'll need to build a bit of hits before they give you them, but you can start off by testing them in stores or something), contact companies who earn your top rankings. If you make it sound important enough, they'll likely send out a company press release announcing their "accomplishment," or maybe more. (One of my Suite101 writers had an automotive manufacturer recently pick up on an article like that, and they're using the review in future advertisings with her URL - and that's with views per month that would be reasonably achievable... nothing over the top.) Look into trade publications. Try to score interviews with the editors or other high level people at the pubs. If you do, more than likely, they'll mention it on the site / in the mag or journal, and you'll get free exposure. Just think outside of the typical internet marketing box a bit. It's not that hard to find good ideas. Just do what your competitors aren't yet. Jenn
