Hi, I'm a web designer who's currently in the middle of jobs. I've been a designer for about ten years now and am now looking for others to join a group/team. You'll be designing for personal and business sites, aswell as for musicians, artists, filmmaker, and full featured setups that will be featured in books, tv, film, and other means of media. Depending on the size of the project, you'll be getting a flat fee of $300-$600 after completion. You'll be getting about two projects per month, which should be completed in that span. To give you an example of how my price range works, a WordPress theme would be $300, and a more complex website would be $600. Let me just tell you that by joining my team, you have a lot of perks. I have built websites, set up social media packages (Twitter, YouTube, etc), and put together branding that is seen by thousands everyday. I have connections to actors, actresses, and just about everyone that a designer would kill to work with. I'm not going to say I'll make you famous, but it'll sure be a great addition to your portfolio. Requirements - 18 years of age, a valid PayPal account with valid address (and yes, I can tell, I do checks), a portfolio of some sort with at least 20 examples of original work, a AIM/MSN/Yahoo way of contacting you, and a creative introduction to yourself using Photoshop, Flash, text, or something. Give me a reason to like you, and show me that you're able to come up with strange, quirky, artistic, and far from ordinary ideas. I don't really want the same old 2.0 stuff, I want something completely different. Thanks, looking forward to seeing what I get! PS: The reason I'm trying to break it down is because I'm trying to focus on my upcoming radio and music work. Aswell as that, I want to focus on my photography and art, but I need to have this as the backup so I can afford my hobbies.
Hey im gibigbig and Im interested in joining this team, I have coded alot of pretty cool sites including sites just like gamespot.com as both xHTML and Joomla! ready some of my work is at my deviantart: gibigbig.deviantart.com I meet all the requirements u mentioned except the valid paypal, but im sure we can work something out. see Im outside of the US so verifying a paypal is pretty difficult so I use MoneyBookers, not much different in my opinion. Also, as for the portfolio. i mentioned my deviantart, but since I do this for a hobby, because I love the art of designing, I have my work Scattered, A few recent projects however is: http://www.anime-dreamz.com/forum/index.php?styleid=12 <- I coded the layout for this and all the other [gibigbig] skins http://gibigbig.deviantart.com/art/Atalier-131768098 I have alot of experience in site designing/managing etc.. I used to Admin pretty huge sites such as Narutocentral.com, MangaLounge.com, anime dreamz.com, getbleach.com and much more. Narutocentral is millions of users strong, ML is in the thousands. I am also going to make a site and look for wordpress projects @ 300$.
I didn't really express this enough: Requirements - 18 years of age, a valid PayPal account with valid address (and yes, I can tell, I do checks), a portfolio of some sort with at least 20 examples of original work, a AIM/MSN/Yahoo way of contacting you, and a creative introduction to yourself using Photoshop, Flash, text, or something. Give me a reason to like you, and show me that you're able to come up with strange, quirky, artistic, and far from ordinary ideas. I don't really want the same old 2.0 stuff, I want something completely different. This would be going on your info page on the site.
I enjoy my work. I like it. It gets me tired but it also make me feel good. Designing is a fun thing for me, and I am open minded. Quality is not just a necessity for me but also a passion. Well the thing that I said is true, but honestly, why don't you take a look at what me and gibigbig posted and make up your mind. You make me feel like I'm at an interview, and the therm team dose not go well with the term interview... I hope you get what I mean. You want to form a team. You should be wise enough to know that weird words on how great we are or tend to be on photoshop is only going to work on clients with not to good knowledge about the industry... Elevator lines are for clients, not for you.
Sorry, but technically this is an interview, and in a job interview, people look to see if you can work with groups of people. Especially since my clients are groups of people, I need to make sure you have the ability to work with them. And to be honest, I haven't seen anything spectacular yet. Let me give you some scenarios of things that could come in. It'll give you a better insight of what I'm looking for: A photographer asks for a way for their work to be showcased creatively. They want a slideshow that can be controlled via back and forward buttons, want up to three pictures on each slide, and they want to be able to change the background depending on the category they're in. They also want to update it in WordPress. It cannot be Flash, and has to be javascript based. An artist wants to showcase their drawings, they want it so a paintbrush magically "paints" it onto the page with a brush. They also want to be able to control the stuff that gets put up via WordPress. It cannot be done via Flash. An upcoming singer/songwriter wants to have a music player so people can stream their latest album, they want it to work somewhat like iTunes/Spotify/WMP/and or Napster. It should be similar to something like moof.com and use only a small portion of flash. These people are not so worried about SEO because they already have radio/tv/web credibility. These are somewhat business sites, but they are not for internet services/web hosting/seo/mp3 searches/etc, and the logos you create them could end up next to a Britney Spears CD, a movie theater, and other means of publication. It's more made for print, but meets web specifications.
