I am looking for a news writer for a growing technology blog (subject: web hosting). Position is long-term, so please don't apply if you are not ready to commit. I don't need someone who will just do copy/paste work or write generically. That I can do myself. I want someone with news making passion and interesting character who knows what a news headline should sound like. If your writing skills truly impress me, and your writing rate won't kill my budget, then we can look into expanding your activity, as well as having special materials/reports assigned. ABOUT THE TASK The task will comprise of scouting traditional daily news sources and press releases, then picking one that seems most interesting/important/news-fitting and writing small news briefs. A brief is a highly congested summary of the main news release. In other words, just to-the-point news. Each such news brief has to stay between 50-75 words on average. Examples will be shown. REQUIREMENTS: - ability to quickly grasp the main concept/news factor, re-write it in a presentable news fitting format; - a writer has to live in North America (Canada/U.S.) to be in the same time zone; - write-up 1 brief per day, 6 days a week (Mon-Sat). Number of these briefs might be increased (depends on quality of your work); - a writer will be published under his real name. - everything is tracked.
