I have recently purchased a domain liveresults.org What i had in mind was to add sports/financial/election related content on the site. Is there anything else i can add which very much relates to the domain name? Thanks again for reading Best regards
C02 Measurements in certain areas. Available Parking Spaces in major cities. Weather? ...and I'll probably add some more later
Evolv5,ccameleon Thank you for the responses. Looks promising. Will try to see more replies. link_dev
concert times and dates, local activities such as parades and festivles(spell check) depending on how micro you want the site, college events, charity events. if site starts getting big and you develope a nice user base, you can throw some classifieds on it and sort of have a craigs list like thing going for you. just brainstorming here though, not sure if any of this is possible
The Evil Penguin, I only had elections, sports, finance in my mind when i bought this domain. However, looking at the responses the scope is getting bigger. It would take lot of effort in accomplishing this task and then getting the user base to stick to the site. What will be the best for me to start with, with less expenses? Thanks again for wonderful ideas
Pay Per Click. I think starting a PPC search engine would be a great idea, but I am not quite sure how I would promote it though, Adwords? Good luck!
Why not build a "channel" for live betting quotes/news? If i am not mistaken, you can hire programmers to build a "bot" to crawl result from similiar sites. Additional, you may consider cms because rss feed may boost up page rank of your site in less than a few months.
livescore service would be definitely the best choice. There are lot of them over then net, but many of them just focuses on getting some betting ads, just try to bring something unique in this brand. I have similar site, aimed on central european results and it is getting 20 000 people / day - www.onlajny.cz
There are so manythings. Obviously livescores is ideal but there are already many sties catering to that market. Also buying the content for such feeds is expensive. Does anybody know of any cheap sources for feed content (un branded)? Also, betting is one area , i don't know much. Also legal aspects of it are something i need to do lot of research. One other suggestion was to use it for Gas prices. This looks innovative, where the site can ask GAS consumers to enter their local gas price at the pump and then calculate the state/national average price per gallon and the display it on the site. Events are already pretty much covered by upcomming and many such wbsites. Also kick starting such a site is very difficult. Any more suggestions?
